A few things we tell every new parent
Switch food slowly
When you change foods, go gradually. For Haven, swap in about a quarter of the new food at a time over 7 days.
Feed puppies more often
Split a puppy's daily portion into 3 to 4 meals. Adults do well on 2.
Use the puppy and kitten columns
Our dry food bags list cups per day by weight, with separate columns for puppies, kittens and adults.
Keep fresh water out
Moisture matters. Make sure fresh water is always available.
Treats are for training
Haven treats: 2 to 4 a day for small dogs or cats, 4 to 6 for medium dogs, 6 to 8 for large dogs.
Supervise chew time
Pick a chew sized for your dog, stay close while they chew, and take it away once it's worn small.
When they start chewing
Natural chews
Pick a chew sized for your dog and chewing style. Always supervise chew time and replace a chew once it gets too small.

Family-owned since 1992
Built in Bemidji. Shipped to your door.
We’re a family-owned pet store in Bemidji, Minnesota. We started in 1992 in a one-car garage and grew to a 9,500-square-foot store because we only carry what we’d feed our own dogs.
North Winds Premium is our house line: the chews and treats we trust enough to put our name on. When you order, it ships from our Bemidji warehouse and you get our team behind every order.
