5 Tips For An Incredible Summer With Your Dog
It's July and that means beautiful weather for you and your dog to enjoy! Whether you're out at the family cabin or enjoying your local dog park, we've put together 5 different tips that will help ensure your dog enjoys this summer's adventures with you!
Tip 1: Identification
Before doing ANY sort of adventure, this is the one thing you should have nailed down. One the most important things that you can do to protect your pets this summer is to equip them with many forms of identification. This includes identification tags on their collars and microchipping. Most lost dogs and pets are not far from home and these identifications can ensure that your pet is returned home quickly.
Tip 2: Dental Care
Let's face it, in the summertime we all let our diets go a little bit! The only difference is we can brush our teeth, and our pups can't. Dogs can not always clean their teeth properly from their food alone, that's why you should definitely supplement them with special bones and chews such as the North Winds Premium Peak Chasers. This is a very easy and inexpensive way to keep your dogs mouth, teeth, and gums healthy!

Tip 3: Do NOT leave your pets in hot cars!
Most people know that you shouldn't leave your pet in a hot car. Sadly, many people also think "It's only 10 minutes, I'll be quick!" and that is where problems lie. Temperatures can rise as much as 20 degrees in only 10 minutes, regardless of how much shade is in the area you parked.
Dogs do not sweat like us, an overheated dog will pant excessiveless, become lethargic, or have diarrhea! If you notice this happening, you need to see a vet right away.
Tip 4: Give your dogs plenty of stimulation.
Taking your dog on walks will not only give your dog exercise but will also stimulate their minds. This keeps them out of trouble! Playing fetch, swimming, and other outdoor activities will allow you to develop a better bond with your pet and keep them from being naughty in the house.
When you're at home, make sure you keep plenty of toys and bones on hand to keep your shoes from becoming their favorite thing to chew on!
Tip 5: Make sure your dog is safe and secure in your vehicle!
Bringing your pets along on your adventures can be the highlight of their whole summer. That being said, if you're traveling with them you'll want to make sure they are safely secured in the vehicle. We carry many popular options to help with this, and most of them are available for less than 10 dollars! They click right into your seat belt on your vehicle, keeping your dog safe and secure.
